Gamora

Last year for my nieces birthday her parents threw her a super hero costume party. My niece immediately gave me a list of a million different people she wanted to be and after much dicussion and debate she decided on Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy.
First I had to figure out how to paint the leotard but have it stretched at the same time so I stuffed it with plastic bags to be stretched a little more then the actual size of my niece. I found some old demin fabric and painted it to look like the neck of Gamora's outfit.
Next I took a pair of her jeans  and painted them added straps and a holster for whatever weapon she choose or to hold her juice box. After a couple fittings and adjustments it was finally the day of the party.
Got her into her leotard and started by painting her face green and using some purple and glitter facepaint to add details. Then we got her pants on and wet her hair to add the temporary red hair stuff top the ends of her hair. After that she was feeling herself just a little bit.
Last I touched up her green facepaint, put the green body paint and wrapped her hands in some black t-shirt fabric (as her gloves) and BOOM we have a mini Gamora.

Wonder Woman Part II....

One day
while I was babysitting  my boyfriends nieces the youngest one, Aliyna, decided she wanted to play dress up. Well unlike most people my age I have a bag of dress up stuff, old costumes from halloween and things I used when I worked in retail during the Fall months. She was instanly obsessed with my old wonder woman costume I made myself a couple years ago. So we safety pinned and tie the top and the belt on her and she insisted on wearing my boots (a size 8, shes 4 years old)

The she took the Cleopatra dress I made and declared herself QUEEN OF THE SUPERHEROS !

So after a day of being Wonder Woman and wearing my costume to Bob Evans (including the boots) I told her if she was good i'd make her her very own Wonder Woman costume.
Everything except the crown...

HALLOWEEN !!!

Just a quick post about my Halloween adventures this year. I once again took it upon myself to make my costume…and costumes for 3 other people.

For trick or treating I sort of took it upon myself to make all of the adult costumes. We decided to be the Flintstones and the Rubbles.

Painting Fred's costumes.

Had a lil helper, my bf's niece.

Proud of her handy work

Fred all done

Fred, Barney, and Betty

For the guys costumes I used fabric from the craft store and for the Betty and Wilma costume I used XXL and XXXL mens t-shirts. For the Betty dresss I kept the neck hole from the shirt and painted it black and glued the seashell to it and made my bow out of the scraps from my dress. For Wilma's necklace I used plastic string, cheap plastic golf balls, and hot glue.

I was Betty !
